How to stop Windows XP automatically connecting to network resources.
PROBLEM
Windows XP looks through network resources on the network and automatically connects to available network resources. This can clog up the My Network Places and Printers and Faxes area.
RESOLUTION
Fortunately this function can be turned off fairly easily. Simply click on My Computer, select the Tools menu, then click Folder options and View. Find the ‘Automatically Search for network folders and printers’ option and remove the check box next to it.
No more annoying entries.
